Known for both winter and summer sports the Vosges offers a range of activities. Feel energised by the fresh moutain air.

  • Walks

    There excellent tracks for walkers, cyclist and horse riders to discover the remarkable natural sites. Maps available at Le Haut Pré for you to explore the surrounding area from the backdoor, to the nearby moutains tops or the plateau of “Mille Etang”, a thousand ponds. Local view points: Ballon d’Alsace, Ballon de Servance et Ballon du Grand Ventron, The ridgeway of the Vosges “le Crête”.

    Discover the traces of the local wildlife including roebucks, badgers, foxes and red squirrels. Our nearby protected bog offer magnificient views of wildlife habitation which is characteristic of the rare black grouse “grand tétra” and the carnivorous sundew plant.

  • Mountain Biking

    Several marked routes for all levels are provided in and around the village. The “Haute Vosges” is the home of world champion Julien Absalon and offers more than 1000km of routes.

  • Skiing

    Within 30 minutes, ski resorts with snow canons offer great uncrowded skiing. From the smaller family resorts of Rouge gazon, Ventron and Bussang to the larger resorts of Gerardmer and La Bresse, there’s something for everyone here.

Natural sites

Natural Park of Ballons des Vosges

The views are not lacking from balloons Alsace, Servance, Grand Ventron and Crete des Vosges.

At the top of the balloon: the culms and mountain forests.

Cascades: they abound and are truly spectacular after heavy rain.

Gerardmer, "Pearl of the Vosges", and the Lakes. Glacial Lake Gerardmer is essential but those along the road from Gerardmer and Longemer neck La Schlucht are beautiful also.

The site Belue and Bog House (Natura 2000 site) are spectacular because of their landscape and home to rare flora and fauna and protected with the iconic Grand grouse.

Heritage and Culture

The south of the Haute Vosges is the land of wood and textiles factories with a rich and ancient history. The miners here were the first to use explosives in the world, a museum in Le Thillot takes you on a guided tour underground

Fortresses built to protect France line the Moselle river, one recently saved from ruin is now open to the public in Remiremont.  The heritage museum at Chateau Lambert is situated next to the Naturel Park museum.

Family holidays

The natural environment around the house will please the children, playing in the woods, seeing the local farm animals or just splashing in the streams. Cycling & walking tracks are within easy reach.

Several outdoor and indoor swimming pools in the area. A swimming lake and leisure centre in the next valley at Saulxure-sur-Moselottes.

Treetop Adventure parks, Animal Parks, an Adventure Farm where you can test your sensory skills by walking bare foot and a Theme Park, within an hour, give you plenty of choice for those special days.
